I have also read the book but there was not sufficient explanation.</font></span>

Answers:

To connect wires, you can click on the "Place a wire" tool from the toolbox on the right. This is also explained in the tutorial. What is the error that you are getting? Why did you change the grid size for connecting wires? Did you mean you "zoomed" in?
