my question i that,  I successfully installed the synaptic package manager but the file openjdk-6-jdk couldn't be show there so what I do now??

Alternate method to install Java on Ubuntu:
1. Open the terminal by pressing Ctrl, Alt and T keys simultaneously.
2. At the prompt, type "sudo apt update".  Give the system password when prompted.
3. Once the package index is updated, at the prompt type "sudo apt install default-jdk".
