regarding gnuplot

1) What are the additional advantages of gnuplot in comparison with other plotting software like origin (I understand gnuplot is the open-source, free software, whereas origin is a paid software)
2. If we compare two open source softwares, like gnuplot and the matplotlib module of python, aren't they more or less similar ?

Answers:
gnuplot has more functions than origin.
If time permits, we will look at the new jupyter interface for gnuplot 5 online today in the workshop.
For comparison of gnuplot with matplotlib, we will find the python expert and let you know.
