The variables that you select as Flash Spec are the ones that are generally obtained by solving the model equations. And then using those flash variables, you calculate the rest of the variables.

For example, if you are giving flash spec variables as P and H, it means Pressure and Enthalpy are calculated from the model equations coded and then using P and H, other variables like T, S, Vap Fraction are calculated.
