why cant I copy from editor in windows to editor in ubuntu? Is it like I must open editor (from which I have to copy) in ubuntu only and then copy and paste?

Answers:

If you are using virtual box you first need to enable Bidirectional settings. Goto system/general/advanced and in shared clipbord select bidirectional.
