What is the utility of the 0.Orig folder?

0.orig is a copy of 0 folder. 0 is just renamed as 0.orig, user can copy contents of 0.orig into 0 directory.
cp -r 0.orig 0
This is done to save the original initial and boundary conditions, which can be recovered back if needed.
