Answers:

Did you use the CSV file in the code files link to upload the users in "users in  Moodle" tutorial?

You can find the code file link below the video player.

Please follow all the steps as specified in the tutorial. Then only you will be able to follow exactly.

Otherwise you can enroll the user through enroll user option. Please watch the full video of "User Roles in Moodle". From 4:40 of the video, how to enroll the user to a course has been covered.

Your screen shot shows about Linear algebra course. We are demonstrating on calculus course.

Through CSV file, we have added priya sinha to calculus course. Please check your workings on the interface.

I suggest you to work on "users in moodle" and "User roles in moodle" as specified in the tutorial without skipping any steps in between. Remove the previous working and redo again.

Use the code file given below the video player.

Read the instruction for CSV file:
https://spoken-tutorial.org/media/videos/97/1106/resources/Users-in-Moodle-Additionalmaterial.pdf

For sure, it will work as specified in the video.

What is your moodle version?

Our tutorials are recorded on Moodle3.3

Please check this link if your version is different.

Please try this:
- Open up your course, any 'Calculus' or 'Linear algebra'
- Open up 'Participants' tab for the course (second option in the navigation panel on the left side)
- Here, please check whether or not you are getting an option 'Enrol' on the right
- If yes, click on it and select users you intend to add as students to your course, check if the role is set as 'Student' and then, click on the 'Enrol selected users' button

Let me know whether you were able to perform this or not.

Also, one more request -
- Open up 'Site administration' (last option available on the left panel)
- Open up 'Server' tab
- Here, click on 'Environment' link and please let us know the Moodle version you find here

Please let us know if you have any further queries.

Also, please check the 'Enrolment methods' for the course.
- Course settings -> More... -> Users -> Enrolment methods
OR
- 'Participants' tab -> Settings -> Enrolment methods

I would suggest that you should always try and use the latest LTS versions available for any software as the older versions are no longer supported and there are many new features available in the latest versions.

See this:

Once you are finished with all the tutorials and are comfortable with using Moodle LMS, you can also try upgrading:
