Python is platform-independent. That means it works similarly on Windows as well as Linux operating system. Now the commands you are talking about are the system-level commands and they are going to be different on both the operating systems. It is obviously going to be difficult to remember them at the beginning. But if you practice it becomes easy to remember. So choose whichever os you are comfortable with and start practicing.
