Hello Astha,

Can you check if the other earlier versions of Scilab work for you? The problem that you have mentioned seems to be Windows 8 system specific and will be difficult to solve.

Can you try downloading Scilab 5.5.2? This includes scinotes. https://help.scilab.org/docs/5.5.2/en_US/scinotes.html

Hello Astha,

Is this happening for specific block(s)? If yes, please give the block name(s) also.

You will have to give more information about your environment, especially the Java/JRE version.

Are you importing an existing diagram? If importing, try creating the same diagram again in a new window and then changing the block properties in that diagram.

Okay.

Please post the Java/JRE version also.

Scilab 5.3.3 is very old and will certainly have some inconsistencies on an updated OS. Please try Scilab 6.0.2 and Scilab 5.5.2. One of them should work.
