It is asked to draw a vertical ellipse. In contradiction, it asks to make it look like shape of an eye which requires horizontal ellipse.
The confusion is cleared only in the final diagram showing a horizontal ellipse as opposed to what was asked to draw.

At 10:38
Its asked to draw a circle of blue color and square of red color. After clipping them, the final result shows a bow shaped item of red color. However, when performed, the figure shows the bow shaped item of blue color.

Please address the issues.

The bow will be of red color in the assignment's end result. I request you to perform the assignment once again
by following the video properly.

Yes. Working as expected now.
The circle was to be on top of the squares. Since the circle was drawn earlier, it was below the squares by default and hence the blue color. I used the "layer..." option to bring it above.
Please note, it was't taught until this tutorial on how to move objects below and above each other.
