ACCORDING TO TUTORIAL SENT BY GYANJI

dear sir,
according to tutorial sent by Gyanji,
i have installed xampp on Ubuntu 14.04 but when installing Drupal following error is coming again and again in any of the tar file downloaded(means any version of tar of Drupal) when running the command
<code>sudo tar xvfz Desktop/drupal-6.12.tar.gz -C /opt/lampp/htdocs</code>
. i m feeling effortless. plz help
Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
